Using Capture Fox with ZoomIt

Recently, I've come across a blog post about using Capture Fox with a tiny yet very useful utility, called ZoomIt.
ZoomIt is used to zoom the screen and annotate on it. You can zoom to a specific region and draw freely on that region. Imagine doing this while capturing your screen with Capture Fox. These two tools supplement each other very well.

Babelzilla volunteers localize Capture Fox to other languages

Capture Fox currently supports two languages, English and Turkish.

We are working with volunteers from all over the world on Babelzilla.org to localize Capture Fox to other languages like French, German, Russian, Chinese, Japan, Portugese, Spanish, etc.

Babelzilla.org is a place where volunteers work together to localize Firefox add-ons. We send our thanks to them for their great support.

New version, finally!

It's been a long time before releasing a new version. But finally, it's out, version 0.7. As I wrote in my previous blog post, there are important features that deserve to be checked out.

Besides those features, some bug fixes have been made, some exception handling routines have been added. This time you will find Capture Fox a more stable and a more productive tool.

You can download the new version from here. Since it's not been approved yet by the Mozilla editors, you need to check the "Let me install this experimental add-on" checkbox to activate the download button.

I thank the community for their support. After I've made donation option visible on the add-on page, we've received some donation (not so much actually :)) and that's really motivated us. It's not the amount of donation we've received so far that's important but it's the proof of value in Capture Fox.

Preview of the New Features (v0.7)

Hi,
I wanted you to know on what we are working right know. The following snapshots show the new features, that I find very useful. Click on them to enlarge.

1. You will be able to select a page region to capture. For example, you need to capture only a specific portion of a web page, like a flash animation, then this feature is what you are looking for. Click on the browser region option, click the link, and then select the region with your mouse.

2. You will be able to determine when capturing process starts. You can enter a delay time, so that Capture Fox doesn't start as soon as you click on Start Capturing. It waits for you to be prepared. You can set Capture Fox to start when you minimize Firefox window, and stop it when Firefox window gets focus. This is an amazing feature which makes Capture Fox a real screencasting tool. With that feature, you can capture your screen and Firefox window is not displayed in the output video at all.

After launching a new web site for Capture Fox at www.capturefox.com, I created Twitter and Friendfeed accounts to announce the latest developments. Also, you can read the blog to get the latest news.

You can ask why I chose to create 3 different mediums to communicate. Let me summarize it: Twitter for version updates, friendfeed for aggregating twitter status updates and news from the blog, and the blog for detailed announcements.

I advise you to subscribe to the Friendfeed feed to get all of the updates and news in one package.

Just a few days ago, a Mozilla editor approved the new version of Capture Fox which was waiting for approval and now version 0.6 is public. If Firefox didn't update your version to the newer one, you can update it yourself by downloading Capture Fox at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8090. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Also, if you want us to share a video of yours which you've created with capture fox, you can send us the video link and we'll embed it to capturefox.com.
